About

Hi everyone! Welcome to my blog! I’ll tell you a little bit about myself so you can get to know me better. I’m Jennifer Sharpe, and I was born in 1985, which makes me 32 at the time of writing this. I’m a crafter, blogger and writer. I love to make gifts and give them to my family. I think it’s original and personal at the same time. You can also have a look at these ideas for a gift too. I live in Nottingham in the UK where I’ve lived all my life with my gorgeous family – my husband Matthew, and my two kids, Jessica and Spencer. At the time of writing this we’re due to be joined in another 3 months by baby number three, and we’re all super excited!

My Family

I met Matthew when we were back in school. We started high school together back in the day and started dating when we were 16. Although our parents said we were too young to get serious, I knew that we were meant to be together although we didn’t get married until we were 21. Matthew is the executive manager for an energy sales company and I used to be a secretary for a firm of solicitors, although I gave up work just before Spencer was born and I haven’t regretted it since!

Spencer was born four years ago and then he was joined by Jessica two years later. Now we’re waiting for our new arrival and then hopefully our family will be complete, although I’d never say never to another little one! We decided to keep the sex of the baby a surprise when we went for our scan, so we don’t know whether we’re having a boy or a girl. I think a girl, but Matthew thinks a boy – we can’t wait to find out!

My Life

I’m a stay at home Mum and I absolutely love it. I’ve never felt so fulfilled in my life. A lot of the other Mums I meet seem to think that there’s something wrong with being a full time parent, but I think it’s the most important job in the world. I wouldn’t change my life for anything. It makes me sad when my friends have had to rush back to work after having their children, either because they couldn’t afford to stay at home or because they just loved their jobs so much. Call me old fashioned, but I think that giving our kids the right start in life by staying at home and caring for them personally for those first few important years is so important and I wish everyone was as lucky as me and could enjoy that time to watch their little ones grow and thrive.

In the last few years since the kids have come along I’ve spent a lot of time seeking out parenting blogs and reading about other women’s experiences of motherhood. The more of them I read, the more I thought that it was something I’d like to try too, so I decided to start this blog to share my ideas about parenting and to share my experiences of being a Mum. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it!
